Drawing with Charcoal

This class reviewed looking at shadows and creating depth with them.  By using charcoal, we created a mid-tone and either lightened or darkened the page based on what the shadows looked like.  Using the eraser, we could add light to the page.  This is what I did:

 Here are a couple things I was working on in my sketchbook.  I tried doing a composition piece and here is my start on it.  I also wanted to use markers.  I love tigers so I made that my subject matter.  They actually have a lot of white hair!
